Rye is coastal Westchester — Long Island Sound on one side, Rye Playland down the road — and it's also the farthest of our regular prom towns from the Carmel atelier, at close to 45 minutes each way. We know that's a real drive to ask a family to make on a Saturday, so here's what we do to make sure it's worth it.

What Makes the Trip Worth It
No mall crowds, no shared fitting rooms, no fifteen-minute window with a distracted associate. Every appointment at our lakefront atelier is private and reserved specifically for you, with a stylist dedicated to your fitting from start to finish — the kind of appointment where you're not watching the clock because someone else is waiting for the room.
How to Prep for Your Fitting
Since you're making a dedicated trip out from Rye, come prepared to make it count:
- Bring the shoes (or heel height) you plan to wear so hems can be pinned accurately
- Bring any undergarments you'll wear on prom night — they change how a gown fits and alters
- Bring one trusted opinion, not a crowd — too many voices make fittings harder, not easier
- Save a few hair and makeup inspiration photos so your stylist can coordinate the neckline and back detail
Doing all of this in one visit means you likely won't need a second trip before your final fitting.
Sizing Note
Our inventory spans a full size range across every silhouette, and our stylists fit to your actual measurements rather than your usual dress size — particularly important for close-fitting mermaid and column gowns.
