When Phaedra Parks was booked to star in a nationally televised Cheez-It Snap'd commercial for Bravo, my phone rang early. Styling a TV personality for a national spot is a different sport than a red carpet: the look has to work from every camera angle, under set lighting, and through quick changes between scenes. Phaedra brings the personality everywhere she goes, so my job was to build a look around her, not compete with her.

We started with the set itself. The commercial takes place in a glam room, a dressing room vanity ringed in lights, with racks of gowns waiting in the background. That environment calls for drama that reads on a wide shot and still holds up in a close-up. The piece had to sparkle or sculpt. Nothing in-between.

For the campaign's hero look, we went straight for the emerald green suit, a Jovani 06922 two-piece with a fitted blazer and wide-leg trousers. Monochrome emerald with layered pearls and platinum waves, seated with the snack bowl, it photographed exactly the way we planned: powerful, playful, and pure Phaedra. One strong color, one statement jewel, everything else quiet.

Green was the right call on that set. Against the crimson curtains, the gold balloons, and the warm vanity lighting, emerald reads as the most expensive color in the room. It caught the light without glitter, sculpted her silhouette on camera, and let the pearls and platinum hair do the shine work.

Laura's styling notes for on-camera moments: pick one hero color per scene and build the entire frame around it. Choose fabrics that hold their shape and catch light without sparkle overload, because flat fabrics and competing textures disappear on camera. Keep jewelry to a single focal point so nothing fights the face. And always have a second look ready, television days move faster than anyone expects.

Styling Phaedra for this campaign was a reminder of why I love celebrity wardrobe work: the clothes carry the story, but the woman carries the room. If you have a moment coming that deserves this level of styling, a commercial, a shoot, a premiere, book an appointment at the boutique. Let's build your on-camera moment together.
